When the topic of wealth inequality make the news, the leaders often focus on the damage of 1% of the population owning over 90% of the wealth in their country.
It’s called the tyranny of the 1%, and leads to movements like “Occupy Wall street” in New York or “Occupy The City” in London.
From another perspective, the perspective of the people from exploited countries, when the topic of wealth inequality is mentioned, we see in big pictures Americans who are less than 3,5% of the world population but owns 39% percent of world’s wealth, and Western Europeans who are less than 6% of the world population but owns 31 % of global wealth.
In fact, Europeans and their descendants around the world currently own close to 90% of the world wealth, while they make less than 15% of the world population.
We called that the tyranny of the 15%, and that leads to “Occupy Europe”, a movement of the impoverished in Africa and around the world due to the greed and violence of Europeans capitalists and colonialists.
Different perspective, different battle.
